need help with ded. server!

people cant join my server because i have a router but i am not sure if that is the reason. i turned off my firewall and my friend gave me some lyncs to some websites but they didnt help. can someone explain to me how to do this step by step?

did you go to www.portforward.com/routers.htm find your router then they give great instructions with screen shots!

Yes, that is one of the most common problems for people who can't see their server in the 'servers' tab.

If you have port 27015 forwarded, then the router is no longer a problem. Try disabling any firewalls (as a matter of fact, if you have a router and only the ports needed for HLDS forwarded, then you dont need a firewall.) If that doesn't work, check for any console errors, check the server logs, ect.

well i disabled the firewall a while ago and that didnt work? what did you eman about the whole console error part? how can i check for that?

In your server console check for any errors, anything out of the usual. Or, look in the server/amx logs.

Also, check to make sure that you have the right parameters when you start the server. (shortcut to hlds.exe)

Now if you installed HLDS to a different directory that replaces HLServer. Also, if your game is not counter-strike click the game that you run. Last thing is if you dont run amxmodx click whatever mod you run.

most likely port forwarding problem but make sure you don't have any internet optimizer or download accelerator runnning or anything of that nature

well acutally the banned.cfg will go away once u ban people and the listip will go away too, but, because u have no1 banned, theres nothing to execute

even if your port is not forward it will still say that. you should turn on your dmz.

are you running a download accelerator or another internet enhance program? if so turn it off
